Wildlife Viewing & The Olifantsrus Hide - One of the key attractions of Olifantsrus Campsite is the double-storey hide overlooking a waterhole.
This waterhole has become particularly popular with elephants, hence the camp’s name, Olifantsrus (which translates as Elephant’s Rest).
Engineered for peaceful game viewing, this unusual hide is a double story building with the lower floor facing directly onto the waterhole and the open upper level looking out over the savannah, offering two very unique views of the wildlife of Etosha.
As far as general game viewing is concerned, rare and shy species such as black rhino and black-faced impala are well-established in this part of Etosha Park.
