Dolomite Camp Opened in 2011 Dolomite Camp was the first tourist facility to be built inside the formerly restricted western Etosha. Today Dolomite Camp, with its thatched chalets, and Olifantsrus, which is for campers only, remain the only two places to stay in the remote western side of Etosha National Park which borders with Damaraland in Namibia, an environment which remains pristine and unadulterated with unique wildlife viewing.

The main area at Dolomite Camp has a restaurant, bar, sunset deck and infinity swimming pool overlooking the surrounding plains offering the ideal place to relax and rejuvenate while enjoying the magical views over this unique section of Etosha National Park.

Getting to Dolomite Camp Etosha

This is the first camp to be built in the far west side of Etosha National Park, the building of Dolomite Camp (chalets) and Olifantsrus Camp (for camping only) opened up an area of Namibia that few people had accessed before.

Depending on your route through Namibia you will most likely access Dolomite Camp from Okaukuejo Camp (south east) or Galton Gate (north west from Damaraland).

From Okaukuejo Camp (via Anderson Gate) Dolomite camp is approximately 4 hours drive at the 60km/h speed limit, situated 180km from Okaukeujo Camp. The drive will take 5 to 6 hours from the Anderson Gate entrance to Etosha National Park. We woudl advise you to allow much longer than this especially if you are not used driving on gravel roads so you can take your time, and also to allow for game viewing along the way, especially in the more game rich section near Okaukuejo.

From Galton Gate Guests Dolomite Camp is approximately 45km or 1 hours drive on a gravel road.

Driving from Windhoek the distance to Dolomite Camp is 590km. Take the B1 past Otjiwarongo 250 km, turn on the C38 towards Outjo, then on the C40 towards Kamanjab, then turn right on the C35 towards the Galton /Otjovazandu area - 340km. The journey is all on tar road except the last 45km inside Etosha Park.
